Nature Freeing

We are the market leader for Nature Freeing

What is nature-freeing?

Nature-proofing, also known as discouraging, is the process of keeping protected species out of buildings in an animal-friendly manner before renovation, demolition or preservation work begins.

The goal of nature clearance is to ensure that animals such as bats, house sparrows and other building-dwelling species leave the building and settle elsewhere before work begins. This work always takes place during the least vulnerable period for the species. Usually this is after the breeding season of birds and after the maternity period of bats, but before winter dormancy. In practice, September and October are often the most appropriate months for wildlife clearance.

Our products for nature-proofing

To make buildings nature-free, Unitura uses specially developed deterrent products.

A key product is our exclusion flap. It is designed to make buildings temporarily unsuitable for bats during renovation or demolition projects. The flap allows bats to fly out, but not back in. We also use roosting brushes for sealing openings in eaves, for example. These brushes are very suitable for keeping out house sparrows and other birds. Due to their large diameter and sturdy brush wires, they effectively seal off eaves.

Preparation of nature-free projects

A successful nature-free project begins with proper preparation. Nature-freeing requires a careful combination of ecological knowledge, proper materials and tight planning.

Based on your request – for example, building type, numbers and species groups present – we make an appropriate quotation. If necessary, we first visit the project site. For larger projects, a pre-inspection can be carried out with a car aerial platform. During this inspection we identify possible openings and habitats. For example, it may turn out that well-functioning bird scraps are already present and that repellent brushes are not needed everywhere. This avoids unnecessary work and can save significant costs.

After commissioning, we draw up a schedule for implementation. In the meantime, the client can inform residents about the work. We can support this by providing input for residents’ letters and communications.

Implementation of nature clearance

Our specialized products, experienced craftsmen and in-house equipment allow us to efficiently complete both small and large projects.

Our teams are managed by project managers who oversee:

  • The ecological quality of the work
  • Compliance with legal guidelines
  • Efficient planning and deployment of equipment

Because every project is unique, we always tailor the approach to the specific situation of the building and the species present. Circumstances such as weather changes also sometimes require flexibility and adjustments during implementation. Our experience, capacity and specialist knowledge make Unitura a reliable partner for nature-proofing in renovation, demolition and preservation projects.

Completion and documentation

Upon completion of the work, you will receive access to the project in our digital implementation application. This will record all work performed, including photos and documentation of the measures installed.

Based on this data, the relevant project ecologist can prepare the nature clearance statement. Once this declaration is issued, the project can be formally delivered and the planned work can begin. Although nature clearance is carried out very carefully, it can never be 100% guaranteed that animals will not re-establish themselves in a building. Therefore, monitoring and careful execution remain essential.

Specialist in nature clearance

Unitura has extensive experience in the animal-friendly deterrence of bats, house sparrows and other building-dwelling species. Through our ecological knowledge and specialized products, we ensure safe and effective implementation.

Efficient execution with our own equipment

Our large inventory of deterrent materials, in-house equipment and experienced professionals allow us to efficiently complete both small and large-scale nature-free projects.

Complete care from preparation to completion

From pre-inspection and planning to execution and digital reporting, Unitura supervises the entire process. This ensures correct execution according to the applicable ecological guidelines.
