Entrance bricks can be used as standalone provisions. They are particularly suitable for providing access to the cavity space.
Suitable for
Entrance bricks have been specially designed to provide building-dwelling bat species with access to the cavity space. Depending on the cavity space behind the brick, entrance bricks can be used for summer roosts, mating roosts, maternity roosts and hibernation roosts for common pipistrelles, Nathusius’ pipistrelles, serotines, brown long-eared bats and pond bats.
Installation
The entrance brick can be installed in masonry in two ways: flush with the masonry, or slightly recessed and finished with brick slips.
If insulation material is used in the cavity space behind the entrance brick, this insulation should be covered with GG2 grip mesh. This prevents bats from damaging the insulation material or becoming entangled in it.
