This woodcrete swift box is suitable for mounting onto façades. Compared with timber models, the advantage of a woodcrete swift box is that it lasts longer without maintenance. The box has been designed in line with the standards set out known literature.
Suitable for
This swift box has been specifically designed for the mitigation of swift nesting sites. The boxes can be installed either in clusters or individually. This swift box is also popular with house sparrows as a nesting site.
Design
Swift Box GZTH1 has been designed as part of Unitura’s new range of external woodcrete provisions. The boxes have a modern and functional design. The sloping roof of the nest box provides drainage, helping to reduce staining on the façade. The swift box is made entirely from woodcrete, giving it a very long service life.
Position
Install the box on buildings at a minimum height of 4–5 m. The boxes should not be exposed to direct sunlight, so install them on north- or east-facing façades, or underneath a gutter. If the boxes are installed as part of compensation or mitigation, the guideline is to provide 3 replacement nesting sites for every nesting site that is lost.
Installation
The boxes are easy to install using the screws and instruction card supplied.
This product is often purchased together with VMTH1, VMTH1a, HMTH1 and HOTH1.
