This house martin nest cup is made entirely from woodcrete, giving it a very long service life and allowing it to closely resemble a natural house martin nest.
Suitable for
This house martin nest cup has been specifically designed to provide nesting opportunities for house martins. The nest cup is made from durable woodcrete, a mixture of wood fibre and concrete. The nest cup has an entrance opening at the front.
House martins are colonial breeders, which means it is more attractive to install several provisions together.
Position
Install the nest cup directly underneath an overhang. Please note that house martins have a strong preference for white overhangs. It does not matter greatly if the nest cup is installed under a sloping overhang, as the rounded shape of the cup still allows the birds to nest effectively.
Make sure the nest cup is not exposed to full sun. It is preferable to install several nest cups close together, allowing house martins to nest as a colony. Adding nesting material is not necessary.
